An estimated 8 million pieces of plastic make their way in to our seas every single day. It is believed that by 2050 our oceans will bear the weight of more plastic than fish. This is all the more frightening when you consider plastics have only been around for little over a century. It is a problem created by our species that affects all wildlife, and it is our responsibility to clean up.<\/p>

Plastic Bank have been working around the clock and around the world for over 7 years revolutionising the world's recycling ecosystems as well as building a regenerative society. So far they have recovered 15 million kilograms of plastic - the equivalent of circling the Earth with straws 2700 times!<\/p>

Plastic Bank projects pay collectors to remove waste from coastal communities in Haiti, the Philippines, Indonesia and Brazil. Their collectors gather plastic waste from streets, households, and informal dump sites, properly disposing of plastic waste before it ends up in the ocean. The plastic is recycled and reborn as Social Plastic to be remade into new products as part of a closed-loop supply chain.<\/p>
